Gearboxes

Established in 1986, Tramec started as a manufacturer of bevel helical gearboxes, parallel shaft gearboxes, shaft-mounted gearboxes and right angle gearboxes. Through the years, the product range has been widened to include new and updated product lines i.e. planetary gearboxes and worm gearboxes.

X - H series - Worm gearboxes
 
 The worm reduction gears come in two series: X and H. The series X, featuring a worm and worm wheel set, is available in versions XA with shaft and XF-XC with mounting provisions for motor. Version XF (bell housing + coupling) offers great versatility to suit a broad range of applications and provides higher efficiency than the compact line XC, where the emphasis is on space efficiency. Series H offers the same features as series X with an added plus: a spur gear pre-stage at the input end provides higher performance and a broader range of ratios than the X series. Frame sizes 110 and 90 feature a cast-iron housing cast enbloc, whereas smaller sizes use die-cast aluminium housings. The worm shaft is manufactured from casehardened and hardened alloy steel and ground-finished. The worm wheel has a cast iron hub with cast bronze insert. Hollow output shaft is supplied as standard. Broad range of options available: second input, output flange, single or double extension output shaft, torque limiter with through cable, torque arm.

K Series - Worm Gearboxes
 
 Series K is the round version of the worm gearboxes range. It is available only with the compact input connection. Frame sizes 110 and 90 feature a cast-iron housing cast enbloc, whereas smaller sizes use die-cast aluminium housings. The worm shaft is manufactured from casehardened and hardened alloy steel and ground-finished. The worm wheel has a cast iron hub with cast bronze insert. Hollow output shaft is supplied as standard. Broad range of options available: second input, output flange, single or double extension output shaft, torque limiter with through cable, torque arm.

XX - KX - KK Series - Combined Worm Gearboxe
 
 The combination of two worm gearboxes provides very low efficiency, however the fact that substantial reduction in speed can be obtained in an extremely reduced space makes this solution very interesting and sometimes irreplaceable. Combined worm gearboxes are available in series: KX, XX and KK. The KX and KK series are available for IEC version only. The XX series is available in the XXA version with shaft and in two versions with motor coupling: XXC (compact) and XXF (with bell and joint). The hollow shaft is supplied as standard. A broad range of accessories is available: second input, tapered roller bearings on the worm wheel, output flange, single or double extended output shaft, torque limiter with through hollow shaft, torque arm.

T series - Bevel helical gearboxes
 

• Built in 9 sizes with 2 reduction stages and in 8 sizes with 3 reduction stages .
• Three input types are available : projecting input shaft, pre-engineered motor coupling (bell and joint) and pre-engineered COMPACT motor coupling. (Sizes 56 and 63 excluded). the three input types can be mounted either vertically and/or horizontally.
• Gear unit casing in aluminium alloy GAlSi9Cu1 UNI7369/3 (56-63), in engineering cast iron, EN GJL 200 UNI EN 1561 (71-180) or spheroidal graphite cast iron EN GJS 400-15 U UNI EN 1563 (200-225), it is ribbed internally and externally to guarantee rigidity. It is machined on all surfaces for easy positioning. The single lubrication chamber guarantees improved heat dissipation and improved lubrication of all the internal components.
• Gears are built in casehardened compound steel and have undergone case-hardening and quench-hardening treatments. In particular, the first reduction stage consists of two GLEASON spiral bevel gears with precision ground profile, in 16CrNi4 or 18NiCrMo5 UNI7846 case-hardened and quench-hardened steel.
• The use of high-quality tapered roller bearings on all shafts (except for the input sleeve on the pre-engineered compact motor coupling, which is supported by angular ball bearings) ensures long life and enables very high external radial and axial loads.
• The standard hollow output shaft made of steel (shrink disc available on request), the option of mounting an output flange on one or both sides and the possipility of mounting a backstop device make these gear units extremely versatile and easy to install.

Z series - Parallel gear shaft units


 
 • Built in 6 sizes with single reduction stage, in 6 sizes with two reduction stages and in 6 sizes with three reduction stages.
• Two input types are available : with projecting input shaft, with pre-engineered motor coupling (bell and joint).
• Gear unit body in engineering cast iron, EN GJL 200 UNI EN 1561 (71-180) or spheroidal graphite cast iron EN GJS 400-15U UNI EN 1563 (200-225). It is ribbed internally and externally to guarantee rigidity it is machined on all surfaces for easy positioning. The single lubrication chamber guarantees improved heat dissipation and better lubrication of all the internal components.
• The helical spur gears are built in 16CrNi4 or 18NiCrMo5 UNI7846 quench-hardened and case-hardened steel. The first stage is ground.

P series - Shaft mounted gearboxes


 
 • Built in 6 sizes with a single reduction stage and in 6 sizes with two reduction stages.
• Two input types are available: one with projecting input shaft and one with compact motor coupling for mounting to IEC flanged electric motors.
• Gear unit body in engineering cast iron, EN GJL 200 UNI EN 1561 ribbed internally and externally to guarantee rigidity The single lubrication chamber guarantees improved heat dissipation and better lubrication of all the internal components.
• The helical spur gears are built in 16CrNi4 or 18NiCrMo5 UNI7846 quench-hardened and, case-hardened steel. The first stage is ground.
• The standard hollow output shaft made of steel and available with holes of various diameters, the possibility of mounting an output flange on the side opposite the input shaft, anchorage through either a tensioner or a torque arm, the possibility of mounting a backstop device, make these gearboxes highly efficient and facilitate their installation in various applications.

M series - Shaft mounted gearboxes


 
 • Available in 7 sizes with two reduction stages, shaft-mounting occurs by means of tension arm. A back-stop device can also be mounted if required by the application.
• A projecting input shaft with key is available for mounting of pulleys for belt transmissions.
• The helical spur gears are built in 20MnCr5 UNI7846 quench-hardened and case-hardened steel. The teeth of all gears are ground in order to ensure silent running.
• The standard hollow output shaft made of steel is dimensioned accordingly to enhance performance in all different applications.
• The rigid structure of the housing in engineering cast iron ensures superior resistance to stress. The single lubrication chamber guarantees excellent thermal dissipation.

R series - Right angle gearboxes


 
 • Built in five sizes with three types of output shaft : hollow, projecting or double-extended. Moreover, an additional output shaft can be installed opposite the input shaft.
• Three input types are available : with projecting input shaft, with pre-engineered motor coupling (bell and joint) and pre-engineered COMPACT motor coupling.
• Gear unit body in engineering cast iron, EN GJL 200 UNI EN 1561 ribbed internally and externally to guarantee rigidity and machined on all surfaces for easy positioning. The single lubrication chamber guarantees improved heat dissipation and better lubrication of all the internal components.
• The mechanism of these gearboxes consists of two GLEASON spiral bevel gears with precision ground profile, 16CrNi4 or 18NiCrMo5 UNI7846 steel.

RL series - Right angle gears


 
 RL Series right-angle drives are designed for industrial applications where rotary power must be transferred between two shafts at right-angles to each other. RL series units are available in 6 different sizes with 2 or 3 outputs and with 1:1 or 1:2 transmission ratios

REP series - Precision planetary gearboxes
 
 The planetary gearbox REP series is the result of the outstanding combination competitive price / precision guaranteed with regard to operating features.

- Linear guides The REP series is available in 4 sizes (075, 100, 125 and 150), with 1, 2 or 3 reduction stages, with two or three types of output shaft (AU...) and two types of output flange (FLT and FLQ).

• Flanges: input and output flanges made of aluminium and available in several versions.
• Shafts: made of hardened and tempered alloy steel.
• Gears: made of casehardened and tempered alloy steel, with ground toothing.
• Bearings: high quality and suitably sized to assure long life and noiseless working.

EP series - Standard planetary gearboxes


 
 The planetary gearbox EP series is the result of the outstanding ratio competitive price/precision guaranteed with regard to operating features.
Our gearboxes are manufactured for prevailing utilization in the following applications:

 The EP series is available in 5 sizes (55, 75, 90, 120 and 155), with 1 or 2 reduction stages, with two types of output shaft (A and T) and three types of output flange (A, T and Q). Housing: made of special nitrided steel to assure strength, high reliability and long life. Flanges: input and output flanges made of aluminium and available in several versions. Shafts: made of hardened and tempered alloy steel. Gears: made of casehardened and tempered alloy steel, with ground toothing. Bearings: high quality and suitably sized to assure long life and noiseless working.

GN series - Elastic couplings with nylon ring
 
 GN couplings are made up of two toothed steel bushings, connected by a nylon ring with internal toothing. A snap ring at the centre of the hole prevents axial displacement. GN couplings are only available with shaft grooves (hole, key and dowel) machined to the sizes listed in the table. GN couplings are recommended for transmission of moderate torques at high speed rates (input shafts). The maximum allowed ambient temperature is 70°C.

VSF.2 USC. series - Double output worm gearboxes


 
 APS series includes gearboxes specially manufactured in order to comply with specifical requirements. The kinematic motion is carried out by means of a wormshaft and two wormwheels in order to have two output shafts with a synchronous rotation. These gearboxes can be assembled to electric motors or motorvariators equipped with a fixing flange with dimensions conforming to IEC specifications.
• Casing and flanges Made from aluminium and painted BLUE RAL 5010
• Worm screw Made from alloy steel. Hardened and cemented then finished by grinding
• Worm wheel UNI 7013 GcuSn12 bronze toothed band. Inserted by casting on UNI 5007 G20 cast-iron bushing
• Bearings Taper roller bearings are mounted on the screw and the two outputs
• Lubrication Gearboxes are normally supplied without any lubricant. However, they can be supplied with synthetic lubricant on request

N series - Speed variators


 
 The series N mechanical variators consist of size 003, 005, 010 and 020 with power ranges of 0.18 kW to 1.5 kW are constructed from aluminium. Larger sizes are made from cast iron.
